Rescue Manikin
The 'OFFICIAL' ILS Rescue Manikin as used by all lifesaving federations
around the world. The rescue manikin is suitable for pool rescue
competitions and pool lifeguard training. Made to the ILS specifications,
orange with contrasting colour on head and body, three holes with
screw plugs and rope attachments including special plug to drain the water out of the Manikin.

Manikin Face Shields
1 rolls of 36 each. Disposable face shields with a low-resistance filter.

Spine Board
A spine board is a patient handling device used primarily in pre-hospital
trauma care designed to provide rigid support during movement of a
patient with suspected spinal or limb injuries.

Spine Board Straps
Straps are used to secure the patient to the long spine board, and tape
to secure the head

Scoop Stretcher
A scoop stretcher is a tubular structure that can be split vertically into
two parts; blades are fixed to the tubes. The two halves are put on each
side of the casualty, and then clipped together; the blades go under the
casualty and replace the hands of the first responders (as the blades are
thinner than hands, they are less likely to worsen an unstable trauma).

Automated External Defibrillator
An Automated External Defibrillator or AED is a portable electronic
device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening
cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular
tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through
defibrillation, the application of electrical therapy which stops the
arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm.

Pool Lifeguard Floater
The floater was designed in house by RLSS (I) and is currently in use at
most major aquatic facilities. The floater is red with straps for grip.

Rescue Tube
The rescue tube is usually made of vinyl, and is buoyant enough to
support the full weight of a rescuer and several victims. The tube has a
long leash that the lifeguard wears around the body to tow the tube
along while swimming a long distance.

Portable Oxygen Kit
Oxygen therapy is the administration of oxygen as a medical
intervention, which can be for a variety of purposes in both chronic and
acute patient care.

Lifesaving Hook
Life saving device to help swimmers in an emergency. Also known as a
shepherds hook. Should only be used with a straight pole (not for
telescopic poles). Pole not included

PFD Type 1
Required on all recreational boats. Ideal for wearers whose swimming
ability is limited.
Features include; Buoyant collar, bulk buoyant chest area, made in
safety colors of yellow and orange, high level of buoyancy.

PFD Type 2
Easy to swim in, designed for continuous wear during any aquatic
activity. Features include: Buoyancy material distributed evenly front
and back, swimming possible for wearer, will maintain head above
water, zip up with one strap.
15.
PFD Type 3
Available in a range of styles and colours.
Ideal for water skiing, windsurfing and other aquatic activities. Features
include:

zip up and available with either three or four straps (three strap
pictured).
16.
CPR Pocket Mask
The pocket mask is a small device that can be carried on one's person.
Air is administered to the patient when the emergency responder
exhales through a one-way filter valve.

Throw Bag
A throw bag is a rescue device with a length of rope stuffed loosely into
a bag so it can pay out through the top when the bag is thrown to a
swimmer.
18.
Patrol Whistle
The Fox 40 whistle owes its power to pealess technology which was
developed by Foxcroft and Shepherd. An ordinary whistle uses a small
ball inside of a chamber which vibrates, producing a sound. These
whistles produce less sound and they are often jammed by dirt, saliva,
water, or ice. A hard blow may cause the pea to stick to the walls of a
chamber and produce no sound.

Red and Yellow Patrol Flags
Indicates the safest swimming area (the patrolled area). These are the
most common flags you’ll see and on the popular beaches are only a
few hundred meters apart, so you can always find a patrolled beach.
Please do not swim on an unpatrolled beach.
