Rescue”, the noble act of saving a life after a victim has drowned or nearly drowned consists of two parts i.e. “ Recovery & Revival ” For the former you need presence of mind, common sense, and a bit of luck. The aim is to somehow reach out to the victim in the deep, mentally and physically and land him ashore. For the latter, one must have knowledge and practice. It entails an immediate and on the spot assessment of the condition of the victim and response of a lifesaver. Almost in all cases EAR & CPR would require to be employed and therefore, ne ed to be practiced and mastered. Life saving in the end is only a question of an attitude, a lot of will and a little acumen...

 

     1.  Jan to March - Pool Inspection.
     2.  Jan to Dec - Resuscitation, First Aid, Lifeguard & Lifesaving Training..
     3.  Jan to Dec – Promote "Alert & Informed Life-Guarding at Pools in Pune            and else where to keep 2006 Drowning Free.
     4.  Feb - Life Saving Exhibitions & Fairs.
     5.  Feb to June - Swimming Season - "If you don't want them drowned teach           them to swim." - Swim & Survive Programme .
     6.  April - May - Splash Dash - Short Race Competition .
     7.  Jan to Dec – Set up new SLTCs in INDIA.

     8.  Oct - Nov – National Endurance Swim & Life Saving Championship.
                          – Pool & Lake Events to promote lifesaving.

THE COMMING EVENTS :-

     1.   Attend World Lifesaving Championship at Geelong, Australia from Feb 2006.
     2.  Attend Commonwealth Games and 10th Quinqueonnial Conference at Bath UK September - 2006.

The main thrust of the Society is to train the youth or members of the public in first aid and lifesaving there by increase the number of knowledgeable bystanders. District and national and international Sports Events related to lifesaving are incentives to the young to join the movement.

We have been able to train only 6000 first aiders and lifesavers in 18 Districts in 12 States of the country since May 2000, when we launched our venture. We need to reach 600 districts in 28 States and 7 Union/Capital Territories.
